About

PEO Geneva, NY (Chapter "AK")

One of nearly 6.000 not-for-profit P.E.O. chapters, Chapter AK, based in Geneva, NY, was founded in 1950. We currently have over 40 members we call “sisters”. Becoming a P.E.O. sister is an honor for life. Our twice-monthly meetings, community projects and social events are a wonderful mix of business, fellowship, fun and volunteerism for the public good. Each spring, two of our members attend the New York State P.E.O. Convention.

To support the overall work of P.E.O International, each year our chapter organizes special events and projects to raise funds for:

  • Higher educational loans for women;
  • Financial aid for students at Cottey College in Iowa;
  • Scholarships for high school students headed off to college, international women pursuing graduate study in the U.S. and Canada, and funds for master’s and doctoral study, both nationally and in New York State;
  • Funds for women with emergency needs; and,
  • Annual scholarships to Geneva High School seniors to further their education.
